Buffalo Trace started the Antique Collection annually in 2000, consisting of the Sazerac 18yr rye, Eagle Rare 17yr bourbon, and the W.L. Weller 19yr bourbon. In 2002 the George T. Stagg was added to the lineup, and in 2003 the Weller 19 was dropped (probably due to dwindling stock of Stitzel-Weller whiskey). In 2005 the William Larue Weller was added, and it was an odd year for Stagg, having 3 releases that year: Spring Kentucky-only, Spring nationwide (“Lot B”), and Fall. In 2006 the barrel-proof Thomas H. Handy rye was added, and the lineup has remained the same every year since: Sazerac 18yr rye, Eagle Rare 17yr, George T. Stagg, William Larue Weller, and Thomas H. Handy rye.

In 2005 there were three different Stagg releases:
-Spring Kentucky-only (Lot A)
-Spring nationwide (Lot B)
-Fall nationwide
The two spring releases are rumored to be the same batch but were released at slightly different proofs due to the proof changing between bottling. Fall was a different batch altogether. Spring Lot A is the hardest version to find.
