Col. J.W. Dodge 8yr Bourbon
This export bottle is interesting in that the side label was altered to show 90 proof rather than 80, but the front still reads “40 vol%.”

David Nicholson Bonded Triangle Decanter, 1970-1978
Stitzel-Weller often recycled decanter designs for use among their different brands. This one is interesting in that it was used for the David Nicholson brand, which was then owned by the Van Winkle and McClure families but produced and bottled by Stitzel-Weller.

Although age stated at 8 years, this is actually 11 years old.

David Nicholson “1843” Bonded, 2001
Bottled by Luxco of Saint Louis, David Nicholson was originally produced by Stitzel-Weller, but at some point Heaven Hill became the primary supplier. Unfortunately, Luxco continued to label bottles with DSP-KY-16 until some time in the aughts, so there’s no good way of knowing whether the whiskey in the bottle is Stitzel-Weller or Heaven Hill distillate.

This early bottle of Michter’s 10 year was bottled by Julian Van Winkle, likely in the early 2000s.

This first bottling by the Jewish Whisky Company, a barrel-proof 15yr bourbon by Heaven Hill.

The Jewish Whisky company started putting out an annual limited-release bottle starting in 2013, with a 15 year barrel proof Heaven Hill bourbon. The 2014 version is a blended whiskey created with Dave Perkins of High West, consisting of 8 yr bourbon, 6 yr rye, and 12 yr light whiskey. I love the packaging on this bottle! I wish more companies would think outside the box and make a label that looks modern. This bottle also has a novel clear glass cap that uses a clear plastic insert to seal it. Very cool.
